Liverpool will not entertain any bids to sell 22-year-old English defensive prospect Jarell Quansah in the summer transfer window amid his links with Newcastle United.
According to a report by The Athletic, Jarell Quansah is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Liverpool defensive prospect. However, the Reds do not want to part ways with the 22-year-old academy graduate anytime soon.

Jarell Quansah has established himself as one of the most promising young prospects in the Premier League since breaking into the first-team squad at Liverpool FC. A native of Warrington, the Englishman spent his formative years in his homeland, joining Liverpool as a five-year-old before rapidly progressing through the ranks at the Merseyside club.
The 22-year-old made his first-team bow for Liverpool at the onset of the 2023/24 season and has made considerable progress in the last two years. Quansah has turned out over 50 times thus far for the Merseyside outfit while chipping in with three goals and three assists.
While the English defender has not grown in stature in the 2024/25 campaign, his exploits have earned him a call-up to his national side during the ongoing international break. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress at Liverpool FC has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, with Newcastle United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Newcastle United’s interest in Jarell Quansah is understandable. While Fabian Schar remains a pivotal figure for the Tyneside club, he is on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Jamaal Lascelles and Dan Burn are in the same boat, while Sven Botman has struggled with fitness issues in the last 12 months.
So, Newcastle United can do with a long-term solution at the heart of the defence, with Quansah emerging as a viable target. However, Liverpool will not entertain any bids to part ways with the 22-year-old Englishman in the summer transfer window, thus ending Newcastle United’s move for the youngster.
Liverpool’s stance is understandable, considering Virgil van Dijk faces an uncertain future at Anfield. In addition, the English defender recently signed a new long-term contract with the Reds, and it makes no sense to cash in on him shortly after tying him to fresh terms.
