Bayern Munich rival Arsenal, Manchester United in Benjamin Sesko chase

Bayern Munich will reportedly compete with Arsenal and Manchester United to sign 21-year-old Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from fellow Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Benjamin Sesko is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga giants are in a spot of bother over Harry Kane’s long-term future and have identified the RB Leipzig striker as a viable option to replace the Englishman. However, the Bavarian heavyweights face stiff competition from Arsenal and Manchester United for the Slovenian international.

The soaring stock of Benjamin Sesko

Benjamin Sesko has established himself as one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in July 2023. While the youngster had to bide his time before becoming a regular for Die Roten Bullen, he has not looked back since landing on his feet at the Red Bull Arena.

The 21-year-old has been excellent in the 2024/25 season, contributing to 23 goals in 36 outings across all competitions by finding the back of the net 17 times and providing six assists. Meanwhile, Sesko’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Arsenal, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

A man in demand

Arsenal will dip into the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window. With Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus not being prolific in front of the goal, the Gunners need a clinical striker. So, the Slovenian international has emerged as a viable target for Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Manchester United’s interest in Benjamin Sesko is understandable. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have blown hot and cold this season. So, the Red Devils might need a productive striker in the summer transfer window, with the RB Leipzig centre-forward an option worth considering.

As for Bayern Munich, Harry Kane faces an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena heading into the summer transfer window. Interestingly, the Englishman is a target for Arsenal and Manchester United. So, Sesko is a viable target for the Bundesliga giants.

Bayern Munich’s emergence in the race dramatically changes the equation. It will be interesting to see where the 21-year-old Slovenian international plies his trade next season amid his links with Bayern, Arsenal, and Manchester United.
