Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing 22-year-old Moroccan international Hamza Igamane from Rangers in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Hamza Igamane is the subject of interest from Everton. The Rangers striker is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur and other well-known clubs heading into the summer transfer window. However, the Toffees are in the pole position to land the African attacker in the coming months.
Hamza Igamane and his advent
Hamza Igamane has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Scottish Premiership since joining Rangers from AS FAR Rabat last summer. A native of Temara, the African attacker spent his formative years in Morocco and graduated from the youth division at AS FAR Rabat.
The 22-year-old hit the ground running at Rangers, and he has come leaps and bounds at Ibrox. Igamane has turned out nearly 50 times thus far for the Scottish giants while contributing to 17 goals, finding the back of the net 14 times and providing three assists.
Meanwhile, Igamane’s exploits have helped him establish a foothold in his national squad. The Moroccan international has also piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe, with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Everton’s interest in Hamza Igamane is understandable. The Toffees are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s long-term future. So, the Rangers centre-forward has emerged as a viable target for Everton.
As for Tottenham Hotspur, the North London outfit broke the bank to sign Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth last summer. So, the Lilywhites do not need another striker in the summer transfer window. However, with Richarlison facing an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the London club can do with a striker, with Igamane being an option worth considering.
However, Tottenham and other suitors like Bayer Leverkusen and OGC Nice have fallen behind Everton in the race to secure Igamane’s services in the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Rangers might sanction the 22-year-old Moroccan striker’s departure due to their financial requirements. So, it will be interesting to see if the Toffees beat the competition to land him.
