Manchester United, Newcastle United told to pay €60 million to sign Ademola Lookman

Atalanta could sell Ademola Lookman for a fee of €60 million in the summer, with Manchester United and Newcastle United among those keen.

According to Tutto Mercato Web, Manchester United and Newcastle United could be able to sign Ademola Lookman for €60 million. Atalanta are seemingly open to doing a deal for the Nigerian international, with interest mounting up from elsewhere.

Ademola Lookman has continued his improved performances for Atalanta throughout his time at the club. With 18 goals and seven assists to show for his cause, the London-born forward has helped keep Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in the hunt for the Serie A title, although this could be his final campaign with the Bergamo side.

Atalanta are aware of the growing interest in his services, with a host of Premier League sides keen to sign him. He was the subject of transfer speculation in last summer and winter windows, although he has so far stayed put with the Bergamo side.

Atalanta, for their part, are open to selling Ademola Lookman if an interested club comes up with an offer close to €60 million. Despite previous reports stating a higher price point, the Serie A side are seemingly open to parting ways for that sum, and probably even lower depending on negotiations.

Newcastle United are one of the surprise suitors, although they would need guaranteed Champions League football to attract the best players in the world. Lookman, for his part, is certainly in that category owing to his form and stature with Atalanta, as it would take a massive effort from the Magpies not only from a financial standpoint but also from the sporting side to lure the attacker.

Manchester United to pursue Lookman?

Manchester United certainly hold an interest in Ademola Lookman, who has contributed to 25 goals this season, alongside other Premier League teams, although any move will depend on their ability to make some sales. Ruben Amorim has other needs in the squad such as a midfielder and a striker, as a €60 million outlay on the Nigetian will entirely depend on some sales.

For instance, Alejandro Garnacho’s future at the club remains in significant doubt, and one would ideally assume a player like Lookman would be a direct replacement for the Argentine. Should Manchester United sell the Argentine, they must bring a top-quality wide forward like Lookman into the picture.
