Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing 23-year-old English attacking prospect Noni Madueke from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Give Me Sport, Noni Madueke is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are scouring the market for a wide attacker heading into the summer transfer window. So, the 23-year-old Chelsea attacking prospect has emerged as a target for the Tyneside outfit.
Noni Madueke and his Chelsea journey so far
Noni Madueke has established himself as one of the most promising attackers in the Premier League since joining Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023. A native of London, the Englishman spent most of his formative years in his home city, passing through the academies at Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur before graduating from the youth division at PSV.
The 23-year-old has been decent throughout his spell with Chelsea but has not been consistent enough to establish himself as an undisputed first-choice starter for the West London club. Nevertheless, Madueke has been solid this term, contributing to 12 goals in 28 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net eight times and providing four assists.
Meanwhile, Madueke’s progress at Chelsea has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Recent reports have linked the English attacking prospect with AC Milan. However, Newcastle United will aim to beat the competition to the youngster’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Move across the Premier League on the cards?
Noni Madueke has been on Newcastle United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest in the Chelsea prospect is understandable, considering the Tyneside outfit did not replace Miguel Almiron after he departed from St. James’ Park in the winter transfer window.
So, several candidates, including Johan Bakayoko, have emerged on Newcastle United’s radar, with Madueke also a viable target for the Tyneside club. However, it is unclear if Chelsea will be open to parting ways with the 23-year-old Englishman in the summer transfer window.
A few months ago, reports suggested that Chelsea wanted to tie Madueke to a new contract. So, it will be interesting to see if Newcastle United will be successful in the bid to sign the English winger in the summer transfer window.
