Liverpool are keen on signing Bournemouth defensive sensation Milos Kerkez and could offer Ben Doak in a part-exchange deal.
According to a report from The Sun, Liverpool could use their Scottish sensation Ben Doak in a deal to sign Bournemouth full-back Milos Kerkez in the summer. The Reds want more quality at left-back, and Kerkez could be a valuable long-term acquisition.
The Hungarian international joined the Cherries in the summer of 2023 after an impressive 18-month spell at AZ Alkmaar. He has gone from strength to strength since moving to the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has featured in a total of 32 matches in the ongoing campaign, and he has contributed towards seven goals. He has made the left-back slot his own, and his performances have not gone unnoticed.
Liverpool want to sign Milos Kerkez
Some of the biggest clubs in the country are interested in acquiring Kerkez’s services in the summer transfer window. Liverpool are one of the clubs that could try to sign him ahead of the 2024/25 season.
While Andrew Robertson is only 31 and still has a few years left in him, the Reds are not pleased with his performances, and they do not consider him an undisputed starter going forward. As a result, they are in the market for a new left-back who can challenge for a place in the starting XI.
Milos Kerkez has already proved himself in the English top flight, and he could be an ideal fit in Arne Slot’s system. Not only are the Reds interested in signing him, but they also appear to have a plan in place to bring him to Anfield.
Liverpool could offer Doak to sign Kerkez
The Merseyside club could look to use Bournemouth’s interest in Ben Doak to get a deal over the line. The 19-year-old winger was enjoying an impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough before a thigh injury cut short his season.
While Liverpool are yet to make a decision on his future, reports suggest they could be open to sanctioning his departure. The Cherries are believed to be long-term admirers of the youngster, who is also on the wishlist of Crystal Palace.
The Reds value him at around £25 million, and since they are open to negotiating his departure, he could become part of a deal to sign Kerkez. Doak could be used as a bargaining chip to lower the Cherries’ demands and get the deal over the line.
