Leeds United will reportedly look to sign 28-year-old Swiss international Nico Elvedi from Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Ben Jacobs on Give Me Sport, Nico Elvedi is the subject of interest from Leeds United. The Whites are scouring the market for a centre-back heading into the summer transfer window. So, the Borussia Monchengladbach centre-back has emerged as a target, with the 56-cap Swiss international open to joining the West Yorkshire club if they return to the Premier League.

Nico Elvedi has been among the most dependable defenders in the Bundesliga since joining FC Zurich in July 2015. A native of Zurich, he spent his formative years in his home city and graduated from the youth division at FC Zurich. Meanwhile, he has come leaps and bounds in the last decade.
The 28-year-old has been a regular at the back for Borussia Monchengladbach for most of his stint with the Bundesliga outfit. Elvedi has turned out over 300 times thus far for Die Fohlen while chipping in with 17 goals and 10 assists. The experienced defender has also racked up game time for his national side.
Meanwhile, the 56-cap Swiss international has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe with his exploits for Borussia Monchengladbach. Premier League clubs, in particular, have been keen on signing the Gladbach defender. However, EFL Championship table-toppers Leeds United will aim to beat the competition to his signature in the summer transfer window.

Nico Elvedi has been on Leeds United’s radar for a long time, and the West Yorkshire club wanted to sign the Borussia Monchengladbach defender last summer. However, the deal did not see the light of day as the player did not want to play in the EFL Championship. The continued interest in him makes sense.
The Whites are eager to remain in the Premier League beyond the 2025/26 season if they secure promotion from the EFL Championship. So, a player with a proven pedigree in the Bundesliga might be a solution for Leeds United.
