Manchester United are in talks with Napoli to figure out a solution that could potentially see Rasmus Hojlund exchanged for Victor Osimhen.
According to Caught Offside, Manchester United and Napoli could be working on a potential exchange deal involving Victor Osimhen and Rasmus Hojlund. Both strikers are considered an issue for their respective sides, with a deal that could see them go the other way might be a viable solution in the market as well as a dream scenario for the Red Devils.
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim and their fans are not particularly happy with the performances of Rasmus Hojlund. The Portuguese boss has kept faith in the Danish striker to start most of the games, but a return of one goal in 13 Premier League appearances is not seen as ideal.
That solitary goal in that period came against Leicester City before the current international break, and while he has also scored for Denmark lately, his time at Manchester United could be winding down. While the Red Devils are not considering a sale as of now, Hojlund’s agents are reportedly working towards a Serie A return.
Hojlund has previously excelled for Atalanta before his switch to Old Trafford, and there might be a possibility of him leaving for Italy once again. Napoli were seemingly evaluating an exchange with Manchester United earlier, which could potentially see wantaway striker Victor Osimhen go the other way to Old Trafford.
Osimhen does not have a future in Naples, with the Nigerian striker spending a fruitful loan spell at Galatasaray where he has 31 goals and assists. There are a host of clubs interested in Osimhen ahead of the summer, although Manchester United might look to steal a march by rekindling the idea of an exchange with Napoli involving Hojlund.
Victor Osimhen for Rasmus Hojlund?
The idea of an exchange might be a viable solution for both clubs, although it does represent a dream scenario for Manchester United. They had been thinking about a new striker of late, but that would also mean offloading one of Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee, and should Napoli accept the idea of taking the former for Osimhen, it would mean serious business for the Red Devils.
Manchester United might have what it takes to prise away Osiumhen ahead of the summer, although they do face competition. Barcelona are eying a move for the Nigerian, although there’s a feeling the Red Devils could be able to conjure up a deal with Napoli which could see Hojlund go the other way and make a return to Italy.
