Wolves will demand at least £40 million to sell Rayan Ait-Nouri in the summer amid growing interest from top Premier League side in the wing-back.
According to Football Insider, Rayan Ait-Nouri could cost around £40 million in the summer, with Wolves reluctantly conceding the wing-back’s sale. A host of top Premier League sides are interested, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham among those keeping close tabs.
Wolves did make a smart decision earlier in the season to replace Gary O’Neil with Vitor Pereira, and the move has paid massive dividends. The Midlands outfit seemed destined for a relegation battle at that point, although since the Portuguese took over, they have opened up a nine-point advantage over the relegation sides.
Hence, Wolves are seen as one of the favourites to remain in the Premier League, although the summer window could see them lose a host of their top-rated stars. Matheus Cunha for one could leave, while the likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri could head towards the exit doors, with interest mounting on the latter.
Liverpool are seen as one of the interested parties, with Arne Slot set to target a new left-back in the summer. While Ait-Nouri specialises as a wing-back, he could still prove his worth in a more defensive position akin to the likes of Andy Robertson. The Merseysiders have names like Milos Kerkez and Antonee Robinson on their list, with the club determined to sign a player in that position in the summer.
Manchester United were keen in January, but the arrival of Patrick Dorgu in the winter window does cast doubts as to whether they still need Rayan Ait-Nouri. In any case, the 23-year-old Premier League wing-back may have large offers on his table in the close season, with the Red Devils still seemingly interested even if they have invested in the position quite recently.
Wolves to sell Tottenham-target Ait-Nouri
Arsenal are thought to hold an interest in Rayan Ait-Nouri, although it is difficult to see the Gunners spend on the lines of £40 million that Wolves as asking for the 23-year-old wing-back. Moreover, the Gunners are well-stocked in the left-back role, especially after the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Meanwhile, Tottenham might be the biggest competitor for the Algerian in the summer, as the north Londoners are eager to sign a player in that position. Djed Spence has played there for large parts, but he’s seen more as a natural right-back, meaning Ange Postecoglou will seek a competitor for Destiny Udogie, as Ait-Nouri with his experience might fit the bill.
