Manchester United set to step up interest in Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United are reportedly ready to go all out to sign 22-year-old English international Jarrad Branthwaite from Everton in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by The Sun, Jarrad Branthwaite is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Everton centre-back is also a target for Tottenham, while the Red Devils are ready to intensify their efforts to secure his services. Meanwhile, the Toffees will demand over £50 million to part ways with the English international, who wants UEFA Champions League football at his next club.

Jarrad Branthwaite and his recent progress

Jarrad Branthwaite has established himself as one of the best young players in the Premier League since breaking into the first-team squad at Everton. The Englishman made his senior bow for the Merseyside outfit shortly after arriving from Blackburn Rovers in the summer transfer window of 2021. However, he had to bide his time before becoming a regular for the club.

The 22-year-old has not looked back since returning to Everton from a successful loan spell with PSV Eindhoven, becoming a mainstay at the back for the Toffees. Branthwaite has turned out 78 times thus far for the Premier League club while chipping in with four goals and one assist.

Meanwhile, Branthwaite’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the English international, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United hold a long-standing interest in Jarrad Branthwaite. The Red Devils remain keen on signing the highly-rated Englishman in the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof. In addition, Harry Maguire is on the wrong side of 30. So, Branthwaite is a viable target for Manchester United, with Ruben Amorim ready to go all out to land him.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, Kevin Danso will complete a permanent move in the summer transfer window. However, the Lilywhites are in a spot of bother over Cristian Romero’s long-term future, with the Argentine international reportedly open to joining Tottenham Hotspur. So, Branthwaite is an option worth considering.

Meanwhile, Everton will demand over £50 million to part ways with the 22-year-old English international in the summer transfer window. However, the youngster will only leave the Merseyside outfit to join a club that can offer him UEFA Champions League football next season. So, Manchester United and Tottenham must win the Europa League to land Branthwaite.
