Brentford are expecting offers to pour in for star attacker Bryan Mbeumo in the summer as they could potentially cash in on the winger.
According to Football Insider, Brentford are bracing for offers from Premier League clubs for star attacker Bryan Mbeumo in the summer. The Cameroonian international has been sensational for the Bees, who could potentially cash in if a viable proposal arrives on their doorstep.
There could be some major changes happening at Brentford over in the summer with their current personnel, although that is nothing new for the club. The Bees have in the past sold their top performers with last summer’s sale of Ivan Toney the clearest example of that.
Ahead of the summer, they are expecting some solid offers to pour in for Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, with both being the main attackers entering the final year of their deals. As for the latter, Brentford will have the option to extend his stay until 2027 if need be, although they are bracing for offers.
Mbeumo is currently in the best season of his career, having notched 15 goals in the Premier League along with five assists. He has 21 goal contributions across competitions. The player has successfully filled the goalscoring void left by Toney, and he has been important for Thomas Frank’s side. Brentford are expected to demand significantly for Bryan Mbeumo, with a host of Premier League sides showing an interest.
Liverpool were keen on him earlier, and could still view him as one of the potential options to replace Mohamed Salah with. The Reds are waiting on clarity on the Egyptian’s future, and should Salah depart, then the Cameroonian international will be under consideration as a replacement option.
Will Brentford sell Bryan Mbeumo?
Liverpool are not alone in the race, as Newcastle United are also very interested in adding Mbeumo to their squad. The idea from the Magpies is to keep hold of their key stars like Alexander Isak, with some of their fans already dreaming of a potential front three of the Swede, Anthony Gordon and Mbeumo ahead of next season.
Arsenal are also thought to be interested, although only time will tell whether they have the room for a right winger such as Bryan Mbeumo, given they have other requirements in different attacking areas. Either way, the summer window might represent a big chance for the attacker to leave the Bees for a bigger challenge, preferably with a team in the Champions League, as Brentford might sell for the right price.
