Real Betis set to open talks with Manchester United over summer move for Antony

Real Betis are eager to make a ‘compelling’ offer to convince Manchester United to loan Antony for the whole of next season.

According to ABC Sevilla via Sport Witness, Real Betis are keen to keep hold of Manchester United flop Antony for the whole of next season. The Seville-based team are not in a position to afford a permanent transfer, with the Spanish side open to making a ‘compelling’ offer to keep him at the club on loan.

Real Betis feel they found a top star in Antony when the Brazilian winger was readily available in the market during the January window. The Manchester United flop has had a torrid time at the Premier League side since moving there two and a half years ago from Ajax for a humungous fee.

He has barely come close to finding the form that saw him dazzle at Ajax, as Manchester United wanted to get rid of him in January, with the Brazilian not considered a part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. However, things have panned out well for Antony over in Spain, as he already has four goals and as many assists in eleven games across all competitions.

Manchester United have already slapped a €50 million asking price on Antony, which does make things difficult for Real Betis. The Spanish side are not in the best place financially, as they always have to make room to accommodate new additions to their squad.

Real Betis want another loan move in the summer, and this time for a whole season, with the club now willing to make a ‘compelling’ offer to convince Manchester United. The idea here might see Real Betis offer better loan terms and salary coverage on the deal, which might potentially convince the Red Devils.

Will Antony stay at Real Betis?

Real Betis will feel they may have a chance to keep hold of Antony for another season, although they are wary of the growing interest elsewhere. With Manchester United keen to sell the player, they might find the state of the market for the winger before mulling over what Real Betis have to offer.

Bayern Munich are one of those interested, while there are some sides from Italy also showing admiration following Antony’s stellar start to life at Real Betis. Either way, the Manchester United flop’s future lies away from the Red Devils, as only time will tell whether Real Betis stand a chance to agree another loan for the Brazilian attacker.
