La Liga heavyweights Barcelona are reportedly keen on signing 18-year-old Dutch full-back prodigy Givairo Read from Feyenoord in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet SPORT, Givairo Read is the subject of interest from FC Barcelona. The Catalan giants are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Feyenoord wonderkid. However, the Blaugrana will face stiff competition from Liverpool for the Dutch right-back prodigy.

Givairo Read is the latest whizkid to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Amsterdam, the Dutchman has spent his formative years thus far in his homeland. The teenage sensation began his youth career at Zeeburgia and spent half a decade with FC Volendam before graduating from the youth division at Feyenoord.
The 18-year-old also played for the first-team squad at FC Volendam in the 2022/23 season but had to wait until February 2024 to make his senior bow for Feyenoord. Read has grown in stature at Feyenoord in the 2024/25 campaign, and he has turned out 25 times thus far for the Eredivisie outfit while chipping in with one goal and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Read’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Barcelona and Liverpool are among the prospective suitors vying for the Dutch full-back prodigy’s signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Liverpool’s interest in Givairo Read is understandable. The Reds are scouring the market for a right-back heading into the summer transfer window amid uncertainties surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s long-term future.
