Arsenal considering surprise move for Luis Diaz

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing 28-year-old Colombian international Luis Diaz from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Arsenal are considering a surprise move for Luis Diaz. The Colombian international is on the radar of Barcelona as well, and it will be interesting to see if Liverpool are prepared to let him leave in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old has been an important first team player for Liverpool since his £37.5 million move from FC Porto in January 2022, and the Merseyside outfit will not want to let him leave without a top-class replacement.

Liverpool are already lacking in depth in their attacking unit, and they could lose players like Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez in the summer transfer window. The Egyptian will be out of contract, and he has not signed an extension with the Premier League side yet.

Liverpool will not want to lose two of their first-choice wingers in one window, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. Meanwhile, the interest from Arsenal is hardly a surprise.

The Gunners need more depth in the final third, and signing a versatile winger like Diaz would be a wise decision. He could provide cover for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. His ability to slot into either flank and contribute with goals and creativity makes him a unique asset. Diaz is well-settled in the Premier League, and he is at the peak of his powers. He could transform Arsenal in the attack.

Barcelona keen on Luis Diaz as well

Barcelona need to add more quality to the attacking unit as well, and Diaz has been linked with a move to the Spanish club for a while. The opportunity to move to Spain could be quite attractive for the South American, and he might be open to trying out a new challenge at this stage of his career.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona can agree on a deal with Liverpool. However, the Catalan giants are going through financial difficulties, and it would not be a surprise if they are priced out move for the Colombian international.
