Arsenal and Liverpool have received a massive blow in their pursuit of Nottingham Forest mainstay Morgan Gibbs-White.
Morgan Gibbs-White has been in sensational form this season, and his performances have put him on the radar of multiple top clubs in the country. According to a report from Football Insider, Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in acquiring his services, but they have received a blow as he is expected to continue at Nottingham Forest.
After coming up the ranks at Wolves, Gibbs-White made the move to the Tricky Trees in the summer of 2022 in search of a more prominent role. The move has certainly worked out in his favour as he has established himself as a key figure in the team, and his performances have helped him once again earn a place in the England squad.
He has played a massive part in their dominant run in the Premier League this season. Nottingham are currently third in the top flight, and they look set to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League. Gibbs-White has been involved in 25 out of their 29 outings, and he has contributed towards 12 goals.
Arsenal, Liverpool may struggle to sign Gibbs-White
The 25-year-old’s impressive performances have put him on the wishlist of Arsenal and Liverpool. Both clubs have been keeping a close eye on him and would love to add him to their squad. The Gunners want someone who can add more creativity and, at the same time, cover for Martin Odegaard.
The Nottingham star could be a great acquisition for them as he can feature in a deeper role as well as on the right flank when needed. Even the Reds want to sign him as they seek more depth in midfield and on the right flank. He could be a great fit in Arne Slot’s system.
Both English giants are pushing hard to lure him away from the Tricky Trees with his contract running out in 2027, but they won’t find it easy to strike a deal for his services. Nuno Espirito Santo is determined to have the 25-year-old around for at least another season.
Nottingham will do everything in their power to ensure they keep hold of their skipper. Securing Champions League football would significantly boost their chances of convincing him to stay at the club.
