Youssef En-Nesyri price a stumbling block for West Ham United

Fenerbahce will demand around €50 million to part ways with 27-year-old Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri amid his links with West Ham United over a summer move.

According to a report by Sabah, as relayed by Sport Witness, Youssef En-Nesyri is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are scouring the market for a striker heading into the summer transfer window and have set their sights on the Fenerbahce centre-forward. However, Fenerbahce’s asking price of €50 million has left the East London club in a spot of bother.

Youssef En-Nesyri and his career so far

Youssef En-Nesyri has been one of the most productive strikers in Europe in the last few seasons. The African attacker rose in prominence during his spell with CD Leganes before going from strength to strength in his stint with Sevilla between January 2020 and July 2024.

Fenerbahce signed the 27-year-old striker from Sevilla last summer, and he has been excellent thus far for the Turkish giants. En-Nesyri has contributed to 31 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, finding the back of the net 26 times and five assists.

Meanwhile, En-Nesyri’s exploits for Fenerbahce have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League outfits, in particular, are keen on signing the Moroccan international, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

London calling?

West Ham United’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri makes sense. The Hammers have signed two strikers in as many transfer windows. However, Niclas Fullkrug has struggled with fitness issues since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, while Evan Ferguson will likely return to Brighton & Hove Albion after the 2024/25 season ends.

So, West Ham should invest in a top-quality striker in the summer transfer window, with En-Nesyri emerging as a viable target. However, Fenerbahce’s asking price may pose a problem for the East London club, with the Turkish giants demanding around €50 million to part ways with the player.

The report has claimed that Fenerbahce’s asking price of €50 million may deter West Ham in the bid to sign En-Nesyri. It will be interesting to see if the Hammers can convince the Turkish Super Lig outfit to sell the 27-year-old Moroccan international for a lower fee.
