Arne Slot has identified five Liverpool players he wants out

Liverpool boss Arne Slot is ready to sanction the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota.

According to a report from Fichajes, Arne Slot has identified five players that are no longer an important part of his plans going forward. Caoimhin Kelleher, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, and Diogo Jota are all surplus to requirements, and Liverpool are ready to part ways with them.

The defeat against PSG in the round of 16 of the Champions League was a massive blow, but overall, it has been a great first season for Slot at the Merseyside club. He is all set to guide them to the Premier League title. While things are going great, the Dutch manager has already started planning for the next season.

Despite the successful start, he has identified some key areas that need reinforcement. But before they go ahead with the significant overhaul, Slot will have to make room for new signings. As a result, he has identified a few players that no longer fit into his scheme of things.

Liverpool to sell five first-team stars

Slot doesn’t count on Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, Federico Chiesa, Caoimhin Kelleher, and Diogo Jota going forward. As a result, the Reds are willing to sanction the departure of all five of them.

While Kelleher has done a decent job for them in goal, his game time will be further reduced upon the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili next summer. As a result, his departure almost looks certain. Endo hasn’t been able to establish himself as a key figure in Slot’s team, and they could look for an upgrade in his position.

While Elliot certainly has massive potential, he is not a perfect fit in the Dutch manager’s system. The Reds could end up sanctioning the departure of the English midfielder if an attractive offer comes by. Chiesa hasn’t been able to break into this first team since joining them from Juventus.

He has struggled to stay fit, and even when available, Slot hasn’t trusted him. His departure could make significant room on the wage bill. While Jota has done wonders for the Merseyside club at times, he hasn’t been consistent enough. His departure could help them raise significant funds that could help bolster their attack.

Apart from the five, Darwin Nunez has also been linked with a move away which suggests there will be a lot of changes at Liverpool ahead of next season.
