Joshua Kimmich ready to sign new Bayern Munich contract

Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

His current contract expires in the summer and Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Spanish giants Barcelona are keen on securing his signature. However, a report from TBR football claims that the German International has made a decision regarding his future and he wants to stay at the German club beyond this season.

The 30-year-old is now expected to sign a new deal with the Bundesliga giants. The development will come as a major blow for Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Barcelona need a defensive midfielder

Arsenal needed to bring in more quality and depth in the middle of the park and the 30-year-old would have been ideal for them. He is versatile enough to operate as a defensive midfielder as well as a full back. He has the quality and the experience to compete at the highest level. He has been a key player for club and country over the years and he could have improved Arsenal in the midfield. His versatility, winning experience and leadership qualities would have been invaluable additions to the Arsenal dressing room as well.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are in desperate need of a quality defensive midfielder, and they tried to sign Martin Zubimendi at the start of the season. They need to bring in someone who can shield the back four and allow the creative players to operate with more freedom. Although they have Wataru Endo at their disposal, the Japanese International is not good enough to start for a club hoping to win league titles and Champions League trophies regularly. They need an upgrade on the Japanese international and Kimmich would have been an excellent acquisition. The German International is at the peak of his powers and he could have transformed Liverpool in the midfield..

Meanwhile, Barcelona are looking to add more depth and quality to the side as well. They are going through financial difficulties and they need to look at bargains in order to improve the squad. Signing the 30-year-old on a free transfer would have been an exceptional acquisition.
