Tottenham feel they are the front-runners to sign Tyler Dibling

Tottenham reportedly believe they are leading the race for the signature of Southampton attacking sensation Tyler Dibling.

According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur feel they are the favourites to sign Tyler Dibling before next season. The North London club might have decided against signing him in the winter transfer window, but they are all set to return for his signature in the summer.

Dibling has come up the ranks at Southampton at some pace. He got promoted to their senior side ahead of the ongoing campaign. The youngster has featured in a total of 28 matches and has even contributed towards six goals. While he prefers playing on the right flank, the teenager can even feature as a number ten or a number nine when needed.

He had already made quite a name for himself coming up the ranks at the club, and his performances in the top flight have further enhanced his reputation. Multiple top clubs have taken note of his work, and they will certainly try to lure him away after the end of the ongoing campaign.

While his contract at Southampton runs until 2026, the Saints will find it very difficult to keep hold of him. They are all set to return to the Championship, as they are 13 points behind safety with just 11 games to go. If they fail to stay in the top flight, they will be forced to sell a few of their stars, and Dibling is amongst their most valuable asset.

Meanwhile, Tyler Dibling also seems to be ready for the next step in his career. He has made it quite clear to the Saints that he won’t be signing a new deal. As a result, the next summer window might be their final opportunity to get a decent fee for him.

Tottenham want to sign Dibling

Tottenham are the ones who are pushing hard for his signature. Spurs did consider adding him to their squad in the winter transfer window but ended up signing Mathys Tel. Now, the North London outfit could reignite their interest in the forward in the summer as they continue to build a strong core of young stars.

While they are favourites to win the race, the North London club are not ready to meet the £50 million asking price. Since Ange Postecoglou’s team see the Englishman as a player for the future, they feel his value is half of what the Saints want.

However, with Southampton close to getting relegated and the player not keen on penning a new deal, Tottenham are confident about signing the 19-year-old attacker. With Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski not at their best, Dibling can certainly be a great signing for them.
