Yves Bissouma set for showdown talks with Tottenham over his future

Midfield sensation Yves Bissouma is set to hold crunch talks with Tottenham over his future at the club.

According to a report from Football Insider, Yves Bissouma could end up parting ways with Tottenham ahead of next season as he is set to hold talks about his future at the club once the ongoing campaign comes to an end.

Bissouma made a name for himself while playing for Brighton before making the move to the North London club in the summer of 2022. The defensive midfielder has featured in a total of 88 matches for their first team.

While the 28-year-old has done a decent job, he hasn’t reached the expected levels. He has been involved in a total of 32 games in the ongoing campaign but has racked up less than 1,900 minutes for first-team football.

He has only started in 20 of those fixtures, and with the majority of Ange Postecoglou’s team returning to full fitness, Bissouma has started on the bench in their last three league games.

Bissouma’s future at Tottenham is uncertain

More importantly, he will only have 12 months left on his deal at the end of the season. As a result, his continuity at the club can’t be guaranteed. He has yet to extend his stay at the club since penning the four-year deal upon his arrival from Brighton.

Bissouma is set for crunch talks with Spurs chiefs over the summer as he looks to make a decision on the future. While he is open to extending his stay at the club, the Mali international would want assurance on game time before he puts pen to paper on any new deal.

The 28-year-old could end up pushing for a move away from the club if they are not willing to offer him an important role in Ange Postecoglou’s team. With just a year left on his deal, the ball is in his court, as it will be Spurs’ final opportunity to cash in on him before he gets to negotiate a free transfer exit at the start of 2026.
