Arsenal and Tottenham learn Ferran Torres asking price

Arsenal and Tottenham will have to fork out €40 million if they want to acquire the services of Barcelona star Ferran Torres.

According to a report from Fichajes, Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on signing Ferran Torres, who hasn’t really had enough game time at Barcelona of late. While the Catalan giants have long been reluctant to sell him, they are now prepared to approve his departure and have set an asking price of €40 million.

After coming up the ranks at Valencia and making quite a name for himself while playing for their first team, Torres made the move to Manchester City in the summer of 2020. Unfortunately, the move to the Premier League giants didn’t work out for him, and he ended up moving to Barcelona at the start of 2022.

He has been a consistent performer for the Spanish outfit. In his 141 appearances, the 24-year-old versatile forward has contributed towards 52 goals. While he has done a decent job and is capable enough to feature anywhere across the front line, Torres hasn’t been able to establish himself as a key figure in the team.

He has 14 goal contributions in his 28 outings this season but has racked up just over 1,000 minutes for first-team. The Valencia graduate has been on the radar of quite a few clubs, but Barcelona have been reluctant to part ways with him over the years.

However, with his role diminishing under Hansi Flick and the interest in his services increasing, the Catalan giants are not considering their options. With the club not in the best of financial situations, they are ready to cash in on the Spanish international and have set an asking price of €40 million amidst interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.

North London rivals could battle for Torres

Both London clubs seek more firepower in the final third. Mikel Arteta is a big admirer of the 24-year-old and shares a strong bond with him, having worked with him during his time at City. He sees him as an ideal option to strengthen their attack. His versatility is what could do wonders for them.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been struggling in the ongoing campaign, and they will look to make significant changes next summer to improve their situation. One of their priorities will be to add more quality on the flanks, and they feel Torres can certainly help their cause. Having spent a significant amount of time at City, he won’t take long to adjust to the demands of the league.
