Eberechi Eze open to Manchester United move this summer

Eberechi Eze is reportedly open to joining Manchester United, thus boosting the Red Devils’ hopes of signing him from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Give Me Sport, Eberechi Eze is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Crystal Palace playmaker is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur. However, the English international has boosted United’s prospects of securing his services as he is open to moving to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

The rise and rise of Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze has established himself as one pf the best players in the Premier League since joining Crystal Palace from Queens Park Rangers in August 2020. While the Englishman had to improve his fitness after struggling with injuries in his first few seasons with the South London club, his quality has never been in doubt.

The 26-year-old has seen his importance increase in the last few seasons, especially after Michael Olise departed from Selhurst Park. Eze has been exceptional thus far this term, amassing six goals and seven assists in 28 appearances across all competitions.

Meanwhile, the English playmaker’s progress at Crystal Palace has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing Eze, with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature heading into the summer transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Manchester United’s interest in Eberechi Eze is understandable. Ruben Amorim’s system requires two central playmakers behind the striker. These players must also have a pacy outlet, making the Crystal Palace talisman a viable target for Manchester United. Eze has now boosted the Red Devils’ prospects, as he is open to moving to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, James Maddison has been in and out of the starting lineup this term, and the North London club can do with a top-notch alternative to the English international. So, Eze is an option worth considering, with recent reports claiming he is open to joining Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 26-year-old Englishman will not come cheap, as he has a release clause worth £68 million in his contract with Crystal Palace. While Manchester United and Tottenham have the funds to afford a deal worth £68 million for Eze, they will unlikely match Crystal Palace’s valuation. So, a summer deal will not be straightforward to execute.
