Bayern Munich will reportedly look to sign 20-year-old Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arda Guler is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich. The Bavarian giants are scouring the market for a versatile playmaker heading into the summer transfer window. So, the Real Madrid wonderkid has emerged as a target, with the reigning La Liga champions willing to sell the Turkish international for around €50 million.
Arda Guler and his Real Madrid misery
Arda Guler has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Real Madrid from Fenerbahce in July 2023. Los Blancos beat stiff competition from other European bigwigs, including Barcelona, to secure the Turk’s services. However, fitness issues plagued the youngster for most of the 2023/24 season.
The 20-year-old would have hoped for regular game time in his second season with Real Madrid, but that has eluded him thus far this term. Guler has not even completed 1,000 minutes of game time in the 2024/25 campaign, although he has a decent tally of three goals and five assists in 27 outings across all competitions.
Meanwhile, Guler’s stock in the market remains high despite his struggles for game time thus far this term at Real Madrid. Recent reports have linked the Turkish international with Premier League bigwigs like Liverpool and Manchester United. However, Bayern Munich will aim to beat the competition to the youngster’s signature in the summer transfer window.
Bundesliga adventure awaits?
Bayern Munich’s interest in Arda Guler is somewhat baffling, considering Jamal Musiala is the long-term option in the role behind the central striker. However, the Real Madrid playmaker’s versatility means he can play on the right flank. In addition, he can reprise the box-to-box midfield role.
So, amid uncertainties surrounding the long-term futures of Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, and Kingsley Coman, Guler is an option worth considering due to his age profile and potential. The 20-year-old Turk will not come cheap, with Real Madrid valuing him at around €50 million.
Bayern Munich should have the funds to afford a deal worth €50 million to sign the Turkish international in the summer transfer window. With regular game time eluding Guler, it will not be surprising to see him leave Real Madrid in the coming months.
