Chelsea will soon have a meeting with the representatives of 18-year-old Argentine attacking sensation Ian Subiabre over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Argentine outlet Ole, Ian Subiabre is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The West London club will soon hold talks with the representatives of the River Plate wonderkid over a possible move for the teenage sensation. Meanwhile, the Argentine whizkid has a release clause worth €30 million in his contract.
Who is Ian Subiabre?
Ian Subiabre is the latest highly-rated prospect to rise in prominence in his homeland. A native of Comodoro Rivadavia, the South American winger has spent his formative years thus far in Argentina, passing through the academies at three clubs, including two spells with CAI and River Plate, and graduating from the youth division at River Plate.
The 18-year-old broke into the first-team squad at River Plate last season, and he has turned out four times thus far for the Liga Profesional giants. Meanwhile, Subiabre’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe.
Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing the Argentine attacking sensation, with Chelsea among the prospective suitors vying for his signature. The latest report has claimed that the West London club will soon meet the youngster’s entourage over a possible move in the summer transfer window.
London calling?
Ian Subiabre has been on Chelsea’s radar for a long time. The continued interest in the highly-rated winger is understandable, considering the West London club’s forays into the South American market under the stewardship of BlueCo in the last few years. Deivid Washington, Angelo Gabriel, and several other South American prospects have already joined Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Estevao Willian and Kendry Paez will arrive at Stamford Bridge later this year after they turn 18. So, it is hardly surprising that Subiabre has emerged as a viable target for Chelsea, considering his age profile and potential. Meanwhile, the youngster should be an affordable target for the Premier League club.
Subiabre’s contract with River Plate has a release clause worth €30 million. With Chelsea and the Argentine attacking sensation’s entourage set for a meeting, it will not be surprising to see the 18-year-old wonderkid arriving at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth €30 million in the coming months.
