Kevin De Bruyne is increasingly likely to leave Manchester City in the summer, with MLS outfit San Diego keen to sign him.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City and Kevin De Bruyne are likely to part ways in the summer after a successful association for many years. The Belgian midfielder may not have a place in Pep Guardiola’s future squad, as a move to MLS looks likely as San Diego FC are hopeful of signing the veteran.

There are clear signs that Kevin De Bruyne has lost his marker in the Premier League, as the Belgian seems out of touch with the pace of the English top tier. There have been some important injury issues, which may have prevented Manchester City from offering a new deal to their star midfielder.

De Bruyne has been a successful signing for Manchester City, having been the main man in most of their multi-title wins in the Premier League and the solitary Champions League they lifted in 2023. Many are of the opinion that the Belgian should now look for a way out of the Premier League, as he will have some lucrative offers coming along during the summer.

De Bruyne is out of contract in the summer, with the Manchester City veteran likely to leave the club in the summer. Manchester City are already looking at replacement options with Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, some of the names mentioned in media reports.

De Bruyne has interest from MLS and Saudi Arabia clubs, although he has indicated in the past that a lucrative Saudi move may not appeal to his tastes. Hence, there’s a likelihood that the Manchester City veteran will head to the USA like many other great players in the past in the view of finishing his career there.

San Diego FC keen to sign Kevin De Bruyne

San Diego FC are making big plans ahead of the summer as they are ready to embark on a journey to being one of the key MLS clubs in the present and future. They had an interest in De Bruyne as well as Mohamed Salah, as per some reports, although they might now focus on the former ahead of the summer.

Depending on the offer they make for De Bruyne, there’s a big chance of attracting the Belgian midfielder as one of their most important players. De Bruyne could angle a move and be the main man at San Diego FC, as he might see the appeal in joining the MLS outfit when his tremendous career at Manchester City draws to a close in the summer.
