Leeds United rule out summer move for Rasmus Hojlund

Leeds United have decided against making a move for Manchester United ace Rasmus Hojlund ahead of next season.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Leeds United are on the lookout for a new number nine but they won’t be making a move for Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund in the summer transfer window. They have other targets they will look to push for.

Leeds United’s pursuit of a new striker continues

Daniel Farke is keen on adding more firepower to his squad. He wants to bring in a top-quality star to lead the line. While Leeds United’s pursuit will heavily be impacted by which division they are playing in, as things stand, they are expected to finish top of the EFL Championship and secure a return to the Premier League.

A return to the top flight will result in a massive financial boost, which will allow them to move freely in the summer window. More importantly, Partick Bamford has been linked with a move away, his departure will make room on their wage bill for the signing of a top star.

Leeds won’t go after Rasmus Hojlund

While recent reports have linked them with Rasmus Hojlund, they are unlikely to go after the Manchester United star as his £85,000-a-week wages will still prove to be a touch on the higher side. They do not intend on paying someone those lofty wages, and it would require a significant transfer fee to get the exit-linked striker out of Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are in no rush to part ways with the Danish international. While it has been a slow start for the 22-year-old at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are still happy to have him around. He remains an important part of Ruben Amorim’s plans moving ahead despite the fact that they are looking to add another star forward ahead of next season.

Rasmus Hojlund has massive potential and they do not intend on booking a loss on him this early in his tenure at United. While Leeds won’t go after the 22-year-old, they do want a new striker and have prepared a shortlist of other targets they will go after.
