The potential large investment signals Mikel Arteta’s eagerness to land the Slovenian from RB Leipzig, although there will be questions about his actual valuation.
Arsenal’s search for a top-draw striker is set to dominate talks around their summer business in the market. Mikel Arteta’s current squad are hit with massive injuries as Kai Havertz’s season-ending hamstring problems are only the tip of wide-ranging problems for other players, including Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
The latter dup are still expected to make a return in a month, but the other two have been ruled out of the remainder of the season.
