Brentford set to demand £50 million to sell Bryan Mbeumo amid Newcastle United links

Newcastle United may have to pay £50 million to sign Bryan Mbeumo, with the Brentford attacker expected to attract massive interest in the summer.

According to Football Insider, Brentford are set to demand at least £50 million to sell Bryan Mbeumo in the summer. Newcastle United are the team mentioned with heavy interest, although there are competing Premier League rivals likely to chase the Cameroonian international.

Bryan Mbeumo could be the big story of the summer window when a host of top Premier League sides are expected to scrap it out for the winger’s signature. Brentford are under some pressure with his situation as his current deal expires in 2026, but some quarters have suggested they might have a one year option in the agreement.

Mbeumo has been brilliant for Brentford since he has been a first-choice starter, especially this season following the departure of Ivan Toney last summer. He has been the primary goalscorer for the Bees alongside Yoanne Wissa, but it is the Cameroonian who is viewed as the most valued asset on the London side.

Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham have all shown interest, while Newcastle United is seriously considering him as a primary target in the next window. Mbeumo will have plenty of offers on the table, as it may be time to make that big career move.

Liverpool views him as one of the potential replacements for Mohamed Salah should the Egyptian depart, although Newcastle is pushing for a move in the summer. The Magpies wanted to bring a right winger in January and wanted Mbuemo in the winter market, although they are now ready to push for a move in the summer.

Brentford reportedly want £50 million for the winger with 18 goals and assists this season in all competitions. The Bees are intent on maximising his value, although one would suspect they might have asked for more had Mbeumo had more years left on his current deal.

Newcastle United will be in a good position to pay as much if necessary, although they will face massive competition as many others will fancy their chances with the attacker. The key might be where the Magpies finish at the end of the season, although looking at the shape of their squad, Mbeumo will fit straight into that right-wing slot and form a lethal partnership with the likes of Alexander Isak and Anthony Gordo.
