Arsenal and Tottenham are ready to compete in the chase for Igor Paixao in the summer, with the Feyenoord winger a likely departure from the Rotterdam club.
According to Calcio Mercato, Arsenal and Tottenham are among those keen to explore a move for Igor Paixao in the summer. The Feyenoord winger has come in for high demand following a tremendous season with the Rotterdam side, as a big move away from the Eredivisie seems to be on the cards for the 24-year-old Brazilian attacker.
Igor Paixao is having a tremendous season, and it is probably his best so far with Feyenoord. The 24-year-old Brazilian attacker, in his two prior campaigns with the Rotterdam side, only had 21 goals and 10 assists in 82 games, although this season alone, he has 8 goals and an incredible 14 assists to his name.
The latest of those top performances came against AC Milan in Feyenoord’s Champions League playoffs for the knockout phase. He scored the only goal of the game as the Rotterdam side took advantage of the San Siro. In the aftermath of that performance and many more prior to that this season, Paixao has attracted a lot of interest elsewhere, specifically from Arsenal and Tottenham.
Keeping the story with Tottenham, the north Londoners are in the market for a new wide attacker despite signing Mathys Tel in January. There’s the need to replace Timo Werner, who will probably leave in the summer, while there are big doubts over experienced star Son Heung-min’s immediate future. They have been considering names like Jamie Gittens, among others, and have now added Paixao to the list.
Spurs are looking at Paixao as a potential option to improve their ranks and probably view Tel as a long-term striker option to replace the ineffective Richarlison. Feyenoord reportedly values him at €35 million, and should he continue to rise with his performances, the 24-year-old Brazilian attacker could even cost more in the summer.

Tottenham are not alone in the hunt, as they face the challenge of beating Arsenal in the race for the 24-year-old Brazilian attacker. The Gunners are expected to sign a winger to bolster their attacking ranks next season, as Paixao’s name is also on their list.
Arsenal were linked with Paixao back in January, but they ended the winter window without making a senior signing. Come the summer; they are expected to attack the market for key reinforcements, as a move for the 24-year-old Brazilian attacker does look promising and financially viable.
