Saudi clubs believe Mohamed Salah is using them for Liverpool contract negotiations

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside club for several months.

Mohamed Salah will be a free agent in the summer, and Liverpool are yet to agree on a contract extension with him. The veteran attacker has been linked with multiple clubs recently, but a report from i News has claimed that Saudi Pro clubs are unsure about his desire to join them.

They believe that the player is using them to negotiate a better contract at Liverpool. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Recent reports have proposed promising situations for Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad.

Keeping Salah at the club should be a top priority for Liverpool. The 32-year-old has been exceptional for them this season, and he is undoubtedly the best player in the world right now. Losing him for free would be a devastating blow for Liverpool. They are currently pushing for the Premier League and Champions League titles. They need to hold onto their best players to push for major trophies regularly.

Liverpool cannot afford to lose Salah

Salah is an indispensable asset for Liverpool, and losing him is certainly not an option for the club. He has carried the Liverpool attack all by himself this season. The Egyptian is more than just a goalscorer, and he is a reliable creator as well. The veteran forward has broken several records since moving to the Premier League with Liverpool, and he has helped them win every major trophy at club level.

The Egyptian will be hoping to guide them to more glories this season. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can convince him to sign an extension with the club. Even though the player is on the wrong side of 30, he has an impeccable fitness record and clearly good enough to compete at a world-class level well into his thirties. Liverpool must do everything in their power to tie him down to a new deal.

Meanwhile, Saudi clubs will be disappointed with the situation. They were hoping to sign the player in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. Signing a world-class player like him would have elevated the global reputation of the league.
