Real Madrid prepare ‘all or nothing’ move for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid are all set to step up their efforts to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer under their ‘all or nothing’ policy.

According to a report from the Daily Telegraph, Real Madrid are set to intensify their efforts to land Trent Alexander-Arnold on a Bosman move. Carlo Ancelotti’s team have been keen on his signature for some time, and signing him for free has been their primary focus for some time now.

Los Blancos are looking to reinforce the right side of their defence. Dani Carvajal has been out injured since the start of the season, and his absence has caused quite a few problems for the team in white. While Real Madrid do have Lucas Vazquez as an ideal backup option, both Spaniards are in the twilight of their career.

Real Madrid need to prepare for the future, and they need to bring in someone who can replace Carvajal in the long run. They have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold as an ideal fit for their project and have been after his signature for some time now.

The 26-year-old Liverpool graduate has been a part of their first team since 2016. The Englishman has established himself as one of the best full-backs, and he has played a massive part in all the success the Reds have had in the recent past.

Real Madrid want Alexander-Arnold for free

While Real Madrid are keen on having Trent Alexander-Arnold around for as long as possible, his future has been the biggest talking point with his contract running out. With less than five months left on his deal and a contract extension possibly not on the cards, he could end up leaving them for free and Real Madrid want to make the most out of it.

Alexander-Arnold is free to negotiate a pre-contract with Los Blancos, but nothing has happened on that front. While the team from Madrid did try to make a bid to sign him in January, they were well aware of the fact that Liverpool would turn down their offer.

Real Madrid’spriority from the start has been to secure his services on a free transfer as a part of their ‘all-or-nothing’ transfer policy. Los Blancos’ new transfer policy is quite clear they will either break the bank to sign the best players or pay nothing at all. They forked out a massive fee to bring Jude Bellingham to Real Madrid while they did not pay a penny to add Kylian Mbappe to their squad.
