Manchester United eyeing Antoine Semenyo swoop

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are interested in acquiring the services of Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo.

Manchester United would have loved to make quite a few moves in the recently concluded winter transfer window. But, they were not able to move freely in the market because of financial constraints. That won’t be the case next summer when Ruben Amorim will look to reshape his squad.

The Red Devils will be in the market to reinforce the offensive unit, as their Portuguese manager is not happy with the current lot. The performances of Antoine Semenyo for Bournemouth have caught Manchester United’s attention and according to a report from Fichajes, the Premier League heavyweights are gearing up to make a move for the Ghanaian international.

Semenyo joined the Cherries at the start of 2023 from Bristol City. It did not take him long to establish himself in Andoni Iraola’s team, and he has only gone from strength to strength in the last 18 months.

The 25-year-old is certainly enjoying life at Bournemouth, and he has been key to their impressive run in the ongoing campaign as they sit seventh in the Premier League. Antoine Semenyo has 13 goal contributions in his 26 outings.

Manchester United pushing for Semenyo’s signature

His consistent performances have resulted in interest from some of the biggest clubs in England. Manchester United are believed to be the ones who are most interested in landing Antoine Semenyo. The Red Devils will make quite a few changes to their squad next summer.

They will look to bring in quite a few forwards on a priority basis as Amorim is not happy with the output of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford and Antony, who are currently out on loan, are not a part of his long-term plans.

As a result, Manchester United are on the lookout for players who can fit into the Portuguese manager’s system, and the right-winger’s red-hot form and versatility have placed him on their radar. While he prefers playing on the right flank, the 25-year-old can feature anywhere in attack which makes him an ideal fit for his plans.

People at Old Trafford have been following his progress for a while now, and they are looking to make a move for Antoine Semenyo as they believe he could provide much-needed depth to their attack. The Cherries are not keen on parting ways with him, but the player could be tempted by the opportunity of joining one of the biggest clubs in the country.
