Tottenham ready to bring Kyle Walker-Peters back to the club

Tottenham ponders a late bid for Kyle Walker-Peters, who could be open to making a return to his former side from relegation-threatened Southampton.

According to TBR, Tottenham are reportedly interested in a late move for Kyle Walker-Peters. The versatile full-back has been attracting interest from fellow Premier League sides, and with six months to go on his contract, delegation-threatened Southampton might concede and make the sale.

Southampton are in a precarious position coming to the end of the January window. Their current position in the Premier League standings points towards them being overwhelming favourites to suffer relegation, as their performances have given no encouragement of a fight to survive.

Tyler Dibling is being linked with Tottenham, with the north Londoners now targetting a move for versatile full-ack and former player Kyle Walker-Peters. The latter left Spurs back in 2020 and is now coming to the end of his deal with Southampton, as he could leave for free in the summer.

Southampton could strongly ponder a sale of the full-back, who has predominantly played as a left-back this season and before. Spurs are struggling with defensive injuries, and they certainly lack the quality cover at left-back while the first-choice star there, Destiney Udogie, is already injured.

Hence, the idea of tying up a cheap deal for the 27-year-old defender could be in the best interest of Spurs, as the player could be convinced of a return. Relegation-threatened Southampton are reportedly demanding £8 million, although earlier this month Everton were linked with a £5 million move

Tottenham ending the January window in a strong position

Tottenham are making some interesting moves late in the window, and it could get much stronger if they are able to land the 27-year-old defender. While fellow Southampton teammate Dibling is also a target for Daniel Levy, Spurs are reportedly closing in on Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich

There are also talk of a new striker arriving, and if at least half of those moves materialise, Spours would be finishing the transfer window in a strong position. It could help them boost their league position and even bring them closer to a European finish.
