Saudi giants Al-Ahli revive their interest in Marcus Rashford as Manchester United engage in talks with Barcelona.
Marcus Rashford’s future has been one of the biggest talking points since the start of the winter transfer window. Despite all the efforts, nothing concrete has happened so far. The English international is still pushing for a move away from Old Trafford and it will be interesting to see if he manages to secure a move in the final days of the window.
The Manchester United winger has his heart set on a move to Barcelona. While the Catalan giants would love to sign him, they have some massive financial concerns. Meanwhile, Saudi Pro League clubs have been interested in his signature from the start and according to a report from GiveMeSport, Al-Alhi are looking to reignite their interest in the English winger.
Al-Alhi are pushing for Rashford’s signature
While Rashford has already made it clear that he doesn’t intend on moving to the Middle East, the Saudi Arabian club are looking to make the most out of the fact that he hasn’t been able to secure a move away.
The United graduate has fallen out with Ruben Amorim and he hasn’t been involved in any of their last 11 games. The Portuguese manager has made it quite clear to him that he is free to leave the club.
Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are two European giants that have been linked with the 27-year-old. While Dortmund haven’t really made any progress on that front, Barcelona have an advantage as Rashford wants to move to La Liga.
While the English forward is waiting for them to make their move, Al-Alhi haven’t given up on their pursuit of the United star’s signature. They made a move for him earlier in the window but Rashford had informed his agent he didn’t want to leave Europe.
Despite the player’s stance, Al-Alhi have once again decided to try their luck. They have made a fresh approach to bring him to the Middle East.
Barcelona hold talks to sign Marcus Rashford on loan
While Barcelona’s financial struggles mean they can’t sign him on a permanent basis, they are still looking to figure out a way. According to a report from The Telegraph, the Catalan giants are in tentative talks with Manchester United regarding a loan deal for Marcus Rashford.
There remains doubt whether they could reach an agreement before the transfer deadline but Barcelona are still not giving up on the possibility. They might not have an agreement in place with United but Rashford’s desire to play for them could help their cause.
Even if they do manage to strike a loan deal, there could significant issues regarding his wages as he reportedly earns upwards of £325,000 per week. The financial side of things will certainly complicate things for all parties involved.
