Newcastle United prepared to pay €19 million for Semih Kilicsoy

Newcastle United are reportedly ready to fork out €19 million to sign 19-year-old Turkish attacking sensation Semih Kilicsoy, a target for Aston Villa.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Milliyet, Semih Kilicsoy is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Besiktas attacking sensation is also a target for Aston Villa heading into the final weeks of the winter transfer window. The Magpies are ready to cough up €19 million to secure the Turkish prodigy’s services.

The soaring stock of Semih Kilicsoy

Semih Kilicsoy is one of the latest highly-rated prospects to rise in prominence in his homeland. Several prodigies have grown in stature in Turkiye in the last few years, with Arda Guler, Kenan Yildiz, and Yasin Ozcan emerging on the radar of well-known clubs across Europe.

The 19-year-old has gone from strength to strength in his second stint with Besiktas, and he has become a regular in the final third for the Super Lig bigwigs. Kilicsoy has amassed over 1,500 minutes of game time across 29 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals and six assists.

The youngster’s exploits for Besiktas have helped him establish a foothold in his national squad, making four appearances for Turkiye. Meanwhile, the Turkish attacking prospect’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs across Europe. Premier League bigwigs, in particular, are keen on signing Kilicsoy, with Aston Villa and Newcastle United vying for his signature.

Premier League move on the horizon?

Aston Villa’s interest in Semih Kilicsoy is understandable. The Villans have been scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window. While they have signed Donyell Malen, Unai Emery wants more firepower in the final third. So, Kilicsoy has emerged as a viable target for Aston Villa.

As for Newcastle United, Miguel Almiron will likely depart from St. James’ Park in the winter transfer window, with a return to Atlanta United close to materialising. So, Kilicsoy is an option worth considering, as the 19-year-old Turk can replace Almiron in Newcastle United’s offensive unit. The latest report has suggested the Magpies are ready to pay €19 million to sign him.

It is unclear if Besiktas will be open to accepting a bid worth €19 million to part ways with the 19-year-old Turkish sensation. It will be interesting to see if Newcastle United can beat Aston Villa to the highly-rated attacker this month.
