Manchester United set to return with third offer for Patrick Dorgu

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United are all set to table a revised offer for the services of US Lecce sensation Patrick Dorgu.

Manchester United are looking to reinforce their backline in the ongoing transfer window. The Red Devils want to bring in a new left-sided defender and US Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu is their top priority. While their efforts haven’t yielded any positive results, United haven’t given up just yet.

According to Ben Jacobs, the Red Devils are all set to return with a third offer for the Danish international. The Italian outfit are now looking for €35 million as a fixed fee plus add-ons and United are willing to put forward another revised offer.

Dorgu has made quite a name for himself with his consistent performances for Lecce and his ability to feature anywhere on either flank. While there is no shortage of interest in him, United are pushing hard to ensure they secure the 20-year-old’s services.

Ruben Amorim wants a new left-back on a priority basis as Tyrell Malacia is not an important part of his plans and Luke Shaw has struggled with fitness issues. He wants an attack-minded wing-back for his 3-4-3 system and Dorgu is considered the perfect fit because of his ability to contribute on both ends of the pitch.

United to table another offer for Dorgu

The Red Devils have been working on a potential transfer for some time. They already have a verbal agreement in place with the player regarding personal terms and have been negotiating with Lecce trying to reach a common ground.

United recently put forward their second bid worth €30 million but even that wasn’t good enough. The Italian outfit have lowered their demands but they are still looking for a fixed fee of €35 million along with add-ons.

While there is a difference of around €5 million in the valuation of both clubs, the Red Devils are looking to put forward a higher offer. Amorim is desperate to have him in his squad and the Manchester-based outfit are trying their best to get it over the line in the remaining days of the winter transfer window.
