Premier League heavyweights Liverpool are reportedly keeping tabs on the situation of Borussia Dortmund attacker Karim Adeyemi amid his links with Napoli.
According to a report by Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Karim Adeyemi is the subject of interest from Liverpool. The Borussia Dortmund attacker is also a target for Napoli, with the Serie A giants viewing him as an alternative to Alejandro Garnacho. However, the Reds are also tracking the situation surrounding the German international amid his links with Napoli.
Karim Adeyemi has taken some time to find his feet at Borussia Dortmund after arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2022. The highly-rated prospect spent his formative years in Germany, passing through the academies at three clubs and graduating from the youth division at SpVgg Unterhaching.
The 23-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Red Bull Salzburg before returning to Germany. Adeyemi has been excellent this season, although he has struggled with some fitness issues. The player has contributed to ten goals in 14 appearances in all competitions, finding the back of the net five times and providing five assists.
Meanwhile, Adeyemi’s progress at Borussia Dortmund has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe. Liverpool and Napoli are among his prospective suitors midway through the winter transfer window.
Liverpool’s interest in Karim Adeyemi makes sense. The Reds are in a spot of bother over Mohamed Salah’s long-term future. In addition, Darwin Nunez may not be at Anfield beyond the summer transfer window. So, the Borussia Dortmund attacker has emerged as a viable target for Liverpool, with the Merseyside outfit closely monitoring the situation around him.
As for Napoli, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month. So, the Serie A giants have been scouring the market for a wide attacker, with Alejandro Garnacho their top target. While the Manchester United attacker will likely depart from Old Trafford in the winter transfer window, Adeyemi has emerged as an alternative on Napoli’s radar.
