Crystal Palace, Tottenham, West Ham United vying for Jack Taylor

Non-League side Sutton United are anticipating high-level interest in their promising defensive talent, Jack Taylor, this month.

According to TBR, Jack Taylor, who plays for Non-League side Sutton United, is attracting massive interest from Premier League sides. Crystal Palace, West Ham and Tottenham are all keen to add the 19-year-old non-league defender to their squad, as they see plenty of promise in him to develop for the future.

There are a few cherished stories about players becoming established Premier League stars, having come from non-League football. The likes of Ian Wright, Michail Antonio and Jamie Vardy stand out in that regard, as there’s a new player on the block attracting big interest from the lower leagues.

Sutton United’s 19-year-old non-league defender jack Taylor has been grabbing big attention from top-flight sides such as Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Tottenham. The player was recently called back from a loan, as the Non-League side could anticipate big interest from the top flight as well as some EFL clubs.

Moving away from Non-League football will be seen as a step up for Taylor irrespective of whether he joins a Premier League side or one of the EFL clubs. Palace are keen, having lost Travoh Chalobah earlier this month as Chelsea recalled the defender from his loan. The Eagles have seen several links to defensive players, including FC Midtjylland star Ousmane Diao

West Ham are also in the mix, as Graham Potter has yet to finalise a preferred backline since his arrival at the club. There are also reports linking Jean-Clair Todibo with an exit, although a player like Taylor is not expected to come in and replace the established Frenchman. Instead, the 19-year-old non-league defender is viewed as a prospect who could be very close to breaking into the first-team mould.

Tottenham and West Ham scout Jack Taylor

Tottenham are also keen on Taylor as there’s been a lot of talk about Spurs’ defensive injury troubles, as Ange Postecoglou could make do with another defender at this point. Eric Garcia has been a player linked, although the north Londoners are not thought to be actively keen on signing a new defender. However, they might make do with a young talent like the 19-year-old non-league defender and then develop him.

Meanwhile, the interest from Tottenham and West Ham stemmed from a scouting mission as they watched Taylor pick up a man of the match accolade as Sutton defeated York City. An approach could be on the cards, as the defender seems like someone who could be a solid enough prospect for either London team.
