Manchester United keen on Achraf Hakimi

Manchester United are considering a summer move for PSG full-back Achraf Hakimi, with the view of using him as a right wing-back.

According to Fichajes, Manchester United have added Achraf Hakimi to their list of potential right wing-back targets for next summer. The Red Devils are expected to strengthen their team using Ruben Amorim’s specifications, as the PSG man seems like a player who could fit into the Portuguese’s plans.

Manchester United are planning with Ruben Amorim in charge of the first team, as many are expecting a big summer window. Some visible financial restrictions are preventing the Red Devils from spending money on new signings, but they will certainly have a hefty budget when the season ends.

Amorim is keen to evolve his style of playing with a back three and wing-backs, as currently, he does not have players that suit his formation. Manchester United have already begun looking for players, particularly wing-backs, as their pursuit of Patrick Dorgu shows

The latest player to be linked ahead of next summer is Achraf Hakimi. The PSG man has been known to play that wide role on the right, although he currently assumes a more traditional right-back role under Luis Enrique in Paris. He used to be a wing-back with devastating effect at Inter Milan, as Amorim might look to reinvent the Moroccan’s game.

This season, Hakimi has 10 goals and assists for PSG, which shows he’s a lethal contributor from the wide areas. Plenty of clubs have kept tabs on Hakimi, and coming into the summer, there will be a lot of attention because, as things stand, he will enter the final year of his deal at the Ligue 1 club.

Is Manchester United ideal for Achraf Hakimi?

Given that Amorim is looking for a wing-back to suit his style, Hakimi could be an ideal addition. The Ligue 1 full-back, with his numbers alone, has shown he can be very effective in the attacking third, and that is what the Portuguese manager will look at closely when selecting his options.

From a career standpoint, there are hardly any clubs that will improve his financial package should he leave PSG, as Manchester United is a tempting destination for the Moroccan. Moreover, his contractual situation would also attract the Red Devils, as there’s a big chance to acquire a top-rated full-back at relatively lower transfer fees.
