Everton complicating Beto exit amid Torino links

Everton’s asking price of €20 million for Beto is complicating his potential return to Serie A, with Torino yet to offer more than €14 million to sign him in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Tuttosport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Beto is the subject of interest from Torino. The Serie A outfit will look to sign a striker before the winter transfer window shuts down, with the disgruntled Everton outcast emerging as a target. However, the two clubs are yet to find common ground on the fee, with the Toffees demanding €20 million and the Granata offering €14 million.

Beto and his Everton struggles

Beto has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Everton from Udinese in August 2023. Born in Lisbon, the experienced striker represents Guinea-Bissau in international football. Meanwhile, he arrived at the Merseyside club with a burgeoning reputation after a solid stint in Serie A with Udinese.

However, the 26-year-old has struggled to recreate his heroics at Everton, having been in and out of the starting lineup in the last 18 months. Things have gone from bad to worse in the 2024/25 season, with the player managing only 538 minutes of game time across 17 appearances in all competitions.

However, the Guinea-Bissau international has produced a decent return of five goals and one assist. In addition, it is surprising why the former Udinese striker has struggled for game time when Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not been clinical in the final third. Nevertheless, his frustrations have reached a tipping point, and a return to Serie A might be on the cards.

Serie A return beckons?

Recent reports have claimed that intermediaries offered AC Milan the opportunity to sign Beto from Everton in the winter transfer window. However, the move to San Siro will unlikely see the light of day, with the Rossoneri not interested in signing the out-of-favour Everton attacker. But Torino will vie for his signature this month.

The Maroons have already submitted a bid to sign the Guinea-Bissau international, offering €14 million to secure his services in the winter transfer window. However, Everton’s asking price is complicating matters, with the Merseyside outfit demanding around €20 million to part ways with him.

Considering Beto’s stature at Everton and his struggles under David Moyes (he has seen only seven minutes of game time thus far), it is unclear if Everton can raise €20 million from his sale. It will be interesting to see what the future has in store for the 28-year-old striker.
