Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea have tabled an offer to sign Manchester United’s wantaway star Alejandro Garnacho.
According to a report from TYC Sports, Chelsea have submitted an offer for the services of Alejandro Garnacho. The Argentine international is close to securing a move away from Old Trafford and the Blues are looking to make the most out of this situation.
Garnacho was a key figure in the Manchester United team under Erik ten Hag but he seems to have gone down the pecking order since the arrival of Ruben Amorim. He was left out of the squad for the derby against Manchester City and the majority of his appearances since have come off the bench.
The lack of minutes has frustrated the player who has been considering his future of late. With the club struggling financially and the threat of a potential breach of Profit and Sustainability Rules, United are also looking to cash in on the academy graduate who would represent pure profit on the books.
Multiple clubs are looking to pounce on the opportunity with Napoli being one of the leaders in the race. The Naples-based club recently parted ways with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and they are looking at Garnacho as an ideal replacement. Antonio Conte is pushing for his signature and they have reportedly submitted an offer worth €45 million (£39.15 million).
Chelsea looking to win the race for Garnacho
They are unlikely to win the race for his signature as their offer is well below United’s demands. Meanwhile, Chelsea have also emerged as a potential destination for the Argentine international. While the Blues already have a lot of quality in their attack, they are always on the lookout for opportunities and they do not want to miss out on this one.
The London club have already submitted an offer for his signature. While the exact figure of the offer hasn’t been revealed just yet, they are believed to be the team that is closest to meeting Manchester United’s demands who want around £70 million for the 20-year-old sensation.
The Blues might be close to meeting their demands but it will be interesting to see if United are ready to sell one of their best talents to a direct rival.
