PSG have held talks to sign Victor Osimhen ahead of next summer and potentially beat Manchester United to the Nigerian.
According to TEAMtalk, PSG are eager to tie up a deal for Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer. The Parisian outfit have already opened talks with Napoli over a potential move and want to take advantage of their good relations with the Serie A giants, meaning Manchester United could miss out.
Victor Osimhen seems destined to stay put in Turkey, as the report suggests, and finish the season with Galatasaray, where he has 11 league goals so far. The Nigerian forward has had problems with his parent club, Napoli, since last summer, and after he failed to make a move to one of the big clubs, he resorted to joining the Turkish giants on loan.
There is a reported €75 million release clause in his contract, and that may be of interest to some of the teams looking for a striker. Arsenal are among those monitoring Osimhen’s situation, while PSG and Chelsea tried to sign him last summer but without any success.
Ruben Amorim wants Victor Osimhen as his new striker, as Manchester United are reportedly considering a move in this window itself for the attacker. Napoli are also chasing Alejandro Garnacho and had considered involving Osimhen in a deal for the Argentine attacker.
However, PSG are making headlines in the pursuit of the €75 million-rated prolific striker, as they are already in talks with Napoli for a deal next summer. The Parisians have held an interest in the attacker since last summer, and it appears they have maintained tabs on him, as they could potentially view a summer deal more favourable.
PSG have an advantage in Osimhen chase
PSG recently concluded a deal with Napoli for winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, with the report stressing the good relations built between the two clubs. Those could come in handy for PSG in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen, and the two teams can potentially agree on a swift deal.
Whether Osimhen wants the move remains the question. Other teams like Manchester United, Arsenal or even Chelsea could re-enter the conversation if they are prepared to trigger the €75 million-rated prolific striker’s release clause.
