West Ham United will reportedly look to sign versatile 24-year-old Swiss attacker Noah Okafor from Serie A club AC Milan in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Monday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Noah Okafor is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The AC Milan outcast is also a target for Bournemouth. The two Premier League clubs are in “the front row” to sign the versatile 24-year-old attacker from the Serie A club in the winter transfer window.
Noah Okafor and his AC Milan muddle
Noah Okafor has blown hot and cold since joining AC Milan from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2023. A native of Binningen, the player spent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at FC Basel. However, he rose in prominence during his fruitful stint with Red Bull Salzburg.
The 24-year-old has struggled for game time in the last 18 months, going in and out of the starting lineup throughout his spell with AC Milan. Okafor has managed only 550 minutes of game time across 16 appearances in all competitions while chipping in with one goal and two assists.
However, the versatile Swiss attacker’s stock in the market remains high, with several well-known clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. RB Leipzig came close to signing Okafor this month before the deal failed to see the light of day due to complications in the medical checks. A move to the Premier League might be on the cards, with West Ham United among his prospective suitors.
London calling?
West Ham United hold a long-standing interest in Noah Okafor, having followed him over two years ago. The continued interest in the AC Milan outcast is understandable, considering his versatility. While the player has struggled for game time at the Serie A club, he showed his quality and productivity during his spell with Red Bull Salzburg.
So, Okafor is an option worth considering amid the injury crisis at West Ham. While the 24-year-old attacker is primarily a wide attacker, he can also play as a centre-back, making him a viable target. However, West Ham will face stiff competition from Bournemouth for the AC Milan outcast.
West Ham and Bournemouth are in “the front row” to sign the Swiss international in the winter transfer window. Intermediaries have recently offered Okafor to Tottenham, and it will not be surprising to see him arriving in London in the coming weeks.
