Real Madrid to return with improved offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold

Real Madrid haven’t given up on their efforts to sign Liverpool mainstay Trent Alexander-Arnold in the ongoing transfer window.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s future remains one of the biggest talking points as his contract with Liverpool runs out at the end of the season. Multiple top clubs are keeping a close eye on his situation with Real Madrid being one of the favourites to sign the English international.

Los Blancos can try and secure his services on a free transfer at the turn of the calendar but they have been trying to strike a deal with the Merseyside club for a cut-price fee in the ongoing transfer window. Their efforts haven’t yielded any results yet but according to a report from The Sun, Carlo Ancelotti’s team are all set to return with an improved offer to sign the Liverpool graduate.

Alexander-Arnold has established himself as one of the best-attacking full-backs in the game. He has done wonders for the Reds over the years, helping them win all major titles. While the 26-year-old remains one of the first names on their team sheet under Arne Slot, his future is uncertain with his contract running out in six months.

Liverpool have been trying to extend his stay at the club but they haven’t been able to strike a deal. Real Madrid are looking a close eye on his situation. They are looking to add him to their squad as they see him as an ideal long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

Madrid want Alexander-Arnold in this window

While Los Blancos are confident that they can secure his services on a free transfer ahead of next season, they want to sign him in the ongoing window to ease their defensive struggles amidst an injury crisis at the back. With Carvajal out for the remainder of the season, Ancelotti’s team have had quite a few problems on the right flank.

They feel signing Alexander-Arnold mid-season could be a massive boost to their title aspirations. They submitted a £20 million offer for him but it was instantly turned down by the Reds. Real Madrid are looking to return for him with a revised offer but it won’t be easy to convince Liverpool as the 26-year-old could be key to their chances of winning the Premier League and the Champions League.
