Ansu Fati has been linked with a move away from Barcelona, and a move to Tottenham could reportedly be on the cards.
According to a report by Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign 22-year-old Barcelona outcast Ansu Fati.
Fati was regarded as one of the finest young talents in Spanish football a few years ago. The 22-year-old La Masia graduate was expected to replace Lionel Messi at Barcelona, and he was even handed the Argentina international’s number ten shirt at the Catalan club.
However, the player has not been able to live up to the expectation, and he has no future at Barcelona anymore. The youngster needs to leave the club to play regularly, and he has been offered to Tottenham.
It will be interesting to see if the North London outfit decide to take up the opportunity to sign the player. The 22-year-old remains a phenomenal talent and if Spurs manage to get the best out of him in the coming seasons, the move could look like a masterstroke.
Tottenham could use Ansu Fati
Tottenham need more quality and depth in the attacking unit, and the 22-year-old old capable of operating anywhere across the front three. The Spanish international can operate as a centre-forward as well as a winger. He will add goals and creativity to the side. The attacker knows the Premier League well from his time at Brighton & Hove Albion on loan, and he might be able to settle in quickly and make an instant impact at the North London club.
It remains to be seen whether the Tottenham decide to make a move for him this month. The North London club will not pay a premium for his services, and they could look to sign him on loan. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
The Spanish attacker needs a fresh start and a move to the Premier League would be ideal for him. Tottenham have an attacking system, and they might be able to get the best out of the 22-year-old. Regular football in England could accelerate his development and help him get back to his best.
