West Ham United in transfer tussle to land Antony

Graham Potter’s West Ham United are ready to battle it out for the services of Manchester United flop Antony.

Antony could be on the move in the ongoing transfer window as he looks to revive his career. Manchester United have given the green light to a temporary departure from Old Trafford and according to a report from Fichajes, West Ham United are one of the clubs that are willing to battle for his signature.

After making a name for himself at Ajax, Antony made a big money move to Manchester in the summer of 2022. While he has shown glimpses of the talent he possesses, the 24-year-old hasn’t been able to reach the expected levels.

Ruben Amorim’s arrival meant he had an opportunity to impress the new boss and cement his spot in the team. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened and he is now looking to make a move in search of regular first-team action as he looks to get his career back on track.

United ready to send Antony out on loan

Despite his failed move, United are not looking to get rid of him. They are looking to send him out on loan to a different in hopes that a move away could help the Brazilian return to his best. With the Red Devils ready to sanction a temporary departure, multiple clubs from Europe have shown interest in him.

Real Betis are looking to hand him an opportunity to try his luck in Spain. They seek more quality in the final third and someone like Antony could be a luxury reinforcement on the right flank for them.

Meanwhile, French club Olympique Marseille are also keen on his signature. They want someone who can be one of the leaders of their attack and the Brazilian has the quality to make a difference. Antony could get an important role in both teams which could significantly help his cause.

West Ham to push hard for Antony

While Betis and Marseille are both interested in him, West Ham are all set to rival both clubs. After appointing Graham Potter as their new boss, the Hammers are now looking at areas to strengthen their team. The incoming manager seeks more quality on the flanks and he feels Antony could be an x-factor player for them.

The London club are the first team to make their interest in the United flop official as they look for someone with pace and the ability to take on defenders. He could be a great fit in Potter’s system and an opportunity to continue in the Premier League could be tempting for him.
