PSG are ready to rival two Italian giants, Juventus and Napoli, in the chase for Alejandro Garnacho, with Manchester United’s stance unclear.
According to Caught Offside, Alejandro Garnacho has a long list of suitors ready to pounce on this chase should Manchester United decide to part ways. The Argentine is not a preferred starter under Ruben Amorim, which has sparked rumours of an exit, with PSG in the mix alongside Juventus and Napoli.
The transfer market continues to pick up pace, as PSG are showing they can compete as well as some of the other clubs, particularly with those from the Premier League. The Parisians are close to signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, which could trigger a series of moves elsewhere.
Napoli are likely to look for a Kvaratskhelia replacement and have reportedly set sights on Alejandro Garnacho. PSG are also reportedly interested in the 20-year-old Manchester United prodigy despite their chase of the Georgian. At the same time, Juventus are also keen on the Argentine winger, as the Bainconeri are eager to strengthen the attack with a signing, although any move will be an initial loan with a buy option of sorts.
Garnacho would have been untouchable had any of these clubs come by in the summer market, as Manchester United counted on him in a big way. However, since the arrival of Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese has not preferred to start games with the 20-year-old Manchester United prodigy and has chosen other players in his system.
There’s a fear that Garnacho would feel aggrieved by his situation and could even ask for a move. A recent report stated that Manchester United would be open to offers for some of their promising young players including the Argentine as well as Kobie Mainoo, which has further given rise to speculation over a move in this winter market.
Manchester United’s stance on Alejandro Garnacho unclear
Manchester United are not likely to sell Ganacho or Mainoo in this window, as they are eager to count on their presence for the present and future. However, they will demand a significant price to sell the Argentine if a decision is forthcoming on the winger’s time at Old Trafford, and even then, clubs like Juventus or Napoli may not be in a position to afford him.
In any case, there’s no indication that the club would be willing to sell the 20-year-old as of now, as Amorim might come to a decision next summer. Despite the interest from clubs like PSG, the likelihood of Garnacho leaving this month is remote, although the transfer market tends to bring a few surprises along the way.
