Napoli prefer signing Marcus Rashford over Alejandro Garnacho as they look for an ideal Khvicha Kvaratskhelia replacement.
Napoli are on the lookout for a new left winger, and they are interested in the services of Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho. The Serie A giants would love to have the Argentine international in their ranks but according to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, the Partenopei prefer signing the English international.
Antonio Conte seems to have done wonders at Napoli in his debut season in charge as they sit at the top of the Serie A table. While they are very much in the mix for major titles, things could get tricky for them in the second half as the future of one of their biggest stars has become uncertain.
The Italian manager has confirmed that Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is looking to part ways with the club, and he is expected to be on the move in the ongoing window. With the Georgian international leaving, Napoli are on the lookout for an ideal replacement, and Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford are two names on their radar.
Will the Manchester United duo leave?
Things have gone from bad to worse for Rashford under Ruben Amorim. He was struggling for form and he hasn’t featured for them since the derby against Manchester City. The manager and the player do not have the best of relations and both parties seem to be ready to part ways.
While Garnacho is surely a huge talent for the future and has put in impressive performances every now and then, he is not considered an ideal fit for the Portuguese manager’s system. As a result, there has been a lot of talk about his future in the team.
Napoli would prefer Marcus Rashford
Antonio Conte is interested in the duo as he looks to ensure Napoli have every chance to secure the league title without Kvaratskhelia. While the Napoli managerwon’t mind having Garnacho in his ranks, the Italian tactician would prefer Rashford over the 20-year-old.
The Argentine is admired by the Serie A club but he prefers moving to Spain. He is not Napoli’s number one priority, and they are looking at ways to bring Rashford to Naples. Signing the England international won’t be easy either as there is no shortage of interest in him and even he is inclined towards a move to La Liga.
