Fulham keen on signing Wataru Endo

Fulham are interested in acquiring the services of Liverpool outcast Wataru Endo before the end of the transfer window.

Wataru Endo’s situation at Liverpool hasn’t gone unnoticed and multiple clubs are interested in prising him away from the Merseyside club. According to a report from CaughtOffside, Fulham are one of the clubs that want to sign the Japanese international in the winter window.

Jurgen Klopp brought Endo to Anfield in the summer of 2023. The German manager was looking for a world-class defensive midfielder but having missed out on his priority targets, he decided to bet on the 31-year-old as a temporary fix.

While he did do most things right during his debut campaign, things haven’t been that easy for him under Arne Slot. Endo has failed to establish himself as a key figure under the Dutch manager and he has only limited first-team action so far.

Fulham want Wataru Endo

The Japanese international has delivered every time he has been called up but he is not happy with his game time and is pushing for a move away from the club. Fulham are one of the clubs that are keeping a close eye on his situation and are looking to make the most out of it.

The Cottagers are considering making a move for the 31-year-old as they look to reinforce their midfield ahead of the second half of the season. With Fulham pushing, Liverpool surely have a massive decision to make.

Liverpool could sell for the right price

They could look to stand in his way as he could have a massive role to play in the second half with the Reds fighting for all major titles. Slot would want to rotate his team from time to time and Endo could prove to be an important player for his team.

However, it won’t make sense to keep hold of someone who is unhappy and they might sanction his departure for the right price. A fee of around €12-15 million could be enough to convince the Reds to sell.

It could be a great deal given the age of the player but they will have to look for a like-for-like replacement to ensure something like Ryan Gravenberch isn’t overworked in the centre of the park.
