Manchester United cool interest in Randal Kolo Muani

Manchester United have taken a back seat in their pursuit of the services of PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani.

Randal Kolo Muani is expected to be on the move in the ongoing transfer window as he is not an important part of Paris Saint-Germain’s plans moving ahead. Luis Enrique doesn’t count on him and they are looking to find him a new club.

Manchester United had emerged as a potential destination and they were working on a transfer. But, according to Chris Wheeler, the Red Devils have cooled their interest in the services of the French international.

PSG forked out a significant fee to sign Kolo Muani from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. He might not have lit up the world but the 26-year-old surely had a decent debut campaign.

Despite that, the Ligue 1 giants are ready to part ways with him as Luis Enrique doesn’t consider him an ideal fit for his project.  The Spanish manager is looking for a new number nine with a different skill set and he is ready to sanction Kolo Muani’s departure.

United decide against signing Kolo Muani

With less than 500 minutes of first-team action under his belt in the first half of the season, the French striker is also pushing for a move away. United were interested in his signature as they were looking for more firepower. They wanted to sign him on a short loan and were ready to include a buy option.

With Joshu Zirkzee’s future uncertain, the 26-year-old could have proved to be just the perfect fit for them. But, they have cooled their interest in him and Tottenham seem to be taking an interest in signing the French forward.

Tottenham plot a move for Kolo Muani

The North London club have had a poor first half and they are looking at the winter window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad. Ange Postecoglou wants more quality in the final third and someone like Kolo Muani who can feature anywhere in the attack could do wonders for his team.

Spurs are believed to be the ones leading the race for his signature at this stage. They are looking to complete a deal this week and it will be interesting to see if they can actually get it over the line.
